Business Session with the President of the Republic of Seychelles

At the special invitation of FICCI, Mr Rajiv Arora, Executive Vice President, Muez Hest attended the Business Session jointly organized by FICCI, CII & ASSOCHAM with the President of the Republic of Seychelles H.E. Mr Danny Faure and accompanying delegation on June 25th, 2018 at The Oberoi, New Delhi.

Seychelles offer great opportunities in tourism, fisheries and agriculture, in particular coconut processing, since it has a large cultivation of coconut & needs effective process technologies and The Hon’ble President invited Indian investors to explore opportunities in Seychelles.

The Business Session was also attended by Shri R K Singh, Minister of State ( Independent Charge ) for Power & MNRE, Government of India, besides, Mr Patrick Payet, Pricipal Secretary for Finance, Government of Seychelles, Mr Patrick Esparon, Secretary of State, Government of Seychelles, Mr Oliver Bastienne, Chairman, Seychelles Chamber of Commerce, besides, Mr Abdul Gafoor Yakub, Chairman, Nouvobanq, Seychelles, Mr Charles Bastienne, Minister For Fisheries & Agriculture & Mr Barry Faure, Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Government of Seychelles.

Mr Rajiv Arora, Executive Vice President, Muez Hest while welcoming H.E. Mr Danny Faure, the Hon’ble President of Seychelles, briefed him about Muez Hest and its activities, with specialization in Edible Oil processing technologies. Mr Rajiv Arora informed H.E. Mr Danny Faure, the Hon’ble President of Seychelles that Muez Hest is headed by Mr Javed Husain, Managing Director & Co founder and is being operated as a professional engineering organization which has successfully executed over 270+ projects worldwide.

The scope for furthering Seychelles engagement with India holds tremendous potential and offers a unique opportunity to the industry to surge on a path of co-development.

H.E. Mr Danny Faure, Hon’ble President of Seychelles mentioned that though the economic and commercial cooperation between India and Seychelles is small at the moment, there exists significant scope for enhancement, especially in Coconut Processing & other Agro based industries.

Mr Rajiv Arora said that India-Seychelles business relationship needs to be refreshed at all levels. Businesses from both the sides need to have a creative approach towards exploring business opportunities to its best potentials.

H.E. Mr Danny Faure, the Hon’ble President of Seychelles invited Muez Hest to explore opportunities in helping the Coconut processing industry, since Seychelles is just four hour flight from Mumbai and extended all support and cooperation. Mr President also introduced Mr Rajiv Arora to Ms Cindy Vidot, CEO, Seychelles Investment Board to carry forward the discussions.

Mr Rajiv Arora assured the Hon’ble President that Muez Hest can offer quality projects & products at affordable & competitive prices to the companies in Seychelles, since we need to promote & strengthen our trade relations and can even help Seychelles in developing a Food Security Facility, with particular reference to Edible Oils.
