As a matter of fact, the India Argentina Business Forum was attended by a large official & business delegation led by H.E. Mr Mauricio Macri, Hon’ble President of the Argentine Republic, who addressed the representatives from India & Argentina. The President of Argentina, Mr. Mauricio Macri, said here today that Argentina was looking at India as a “partner for the future” and seeking to strengthen trade ties with India based on the principle of complementarity.
Addressing a business meeting organized jointly by FICCI, CII and ASSOCHAM, Mr. Macri said that Argentina can partner with India in sectors like agriculture, energy, IT, tourism, mining and renewable energy to deepen the trade ties between the two nations. The President urged businessmen on both the sides to take leverage of the opportunities that exist while inviting Indian companies to invest in Argentina.
Union Minister of Commerce & Industry and Civil Aviation, Suresh Prabhu, in his welcome remarks said that India is keen to strengthen bilateral ties with Argentina which is one of the leading trading partners of India in the Latin American region. Addressing the India Argentina Business Forum, the Commerce Minister said there are complementarities between the two countries. Both countries recognize need to upgrade bilateral trade and economic relations from the current level to a higher level by utilizing the untapped potential available to both nations.
Hon’ble Mr Suresh Prabhu further informed that Argentina is a major player in the field of agriculture and India can benefit from the expertise of Argentina in reducing pre and post-harvest losses.The Minister also said that India and Argentina can work together to reduce the impact of climate change on agriculture.
