Interactive Session with Indian Heads of Missions

At the invitation of CII, Mr Rajiv Arora, Executive Vice President, Muez Hest attended the Interactive Session with Indian Heads of Missions of South Asia & Central Asia at hotel Taj Mahal, New Delhi on 3rd July, 2018.

The session was aimed to provide an opportunity for the Indian Industry to meet and interact with various Indian Ambassadors / High Commissioners from South Asia and Central Asia to give them the priorities of the Indian companies in various sectors on future strategies to expand into the region, exploring new business opportunities and highlight other challenging issues.

Jaideep Sarkar, Indian Ambassador to Bhutan
Mr Rajiv Arora, Executive Vice President, Muez Hest met H.E. Mr Jaideep Sarkar, Indian Ambassador to Bhutan and introduced Muez Hest & its activities to him. Excellency Mr Jaideep Sarkar informed that although Bhutan is overwhelmingly dependent on India for various imports and is poised for rapid economic growth, however, opportunities could be explored for setting up edible oil projects in Bhutan.
H.E. Mr Ajay Bisaria, High Commissioner of India to Pakistan
Mr Rajiv Arora, Executive Vice President, Muez Hest introduced about Muez Hest and its activities to H.E. Mr Ajay Bisaria, High Commissioner of India to Pakistan and briefed him that Muez Hest is engaged in setting up edible oil plants & have in the last 23 years, successfully commissioned over 270 projects, worldwide. Excellency Mr Ajay Bisaria, wanted to know if Muez Hest has been able to set up a project in Pakistan, although demand is very high and even the trade between the two nations are growing rapidly, despite, various hurdles. Excellency Mr Ajay Bisaria also informed that there are unique set of challenges and opportunities, as at times there is intense activity and at other time, it is dormant. Mr Rajiv Arora informed Excellency Mr Ajay Bisaria that unless the situation improves on a sustained basis, export of projects to Pakistan would be a challenge, since, it is spread over a period of 18 to 24 months and movement of goods through Wagah Border is not opened for project exports but only for product export, which makes the logistics a bit difficult and enhances the project cost due to high shipping charges.
H.E. Ms Veena Sekri, former High Commissioner of India to Bangladesh
Mr Rajiv Arora, Executive Vice President, Muez Hest interacted with H.E. Ms Veena Sekri, former High Commissioner of India to Bangladesh and briefly introduced about Muez Hest as a leading technology providers & turnkey plant & machinery suppliers in the Edible Oil sector. Excellency Ms Veena Sekri, was very pleased to learn that Muez Hest has successfully executed projects in Bangladesh and are in the process of setting up a Solvent Extraction Plant. Excellency Ms Veena mentioned that the bilateral trade relations have improved considerably in the past.
Mr Rajiv Arora informed H.E. Ms Veena Sekri that Muez Hest has been able to develop various state of the art innovative cutting edge process technologies due to its in-house R&D Centre located at Mumbai which also has the Pilot Plant installed to carry out trials & tests to determine the performance parameters.
M J Sheikh, Vice President, Ion Exchange Asia Pacific , Thailand and the Board Member of India Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce & Industry
Mr Rajiv Arora, Executive Vice President, Muez Hest met Mr M J Sheikh, Vice President, Ion Exchange Asia Pacific, Thailand and the Board Member of India Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce & Industry and discussed with him about the potential business opportunities in Bangladesh.
Ashok Sajjanhar, President, Institute of Global Studies and the former Ambassador to Kazakhstan
Mr Rajiv Arora, Executive Vice President, Muez Hest met H.E. Mr Ashok Sajjanhar, President, Institute of Global Studies and the former Ambassador to Kazakhstan and brifed him about Muez Hest as a leading professional project engineering company engaged in setting up turnkey projects in the Edible Oils and Oleochemical sector, having executed over 270 projects in 17 countries. Excellency Mr Ashok Sajjanhar said that Central Asia is like extended neighborhood & needs to be given due attention & importance, considering the fact that it offers vast business potential for Indian companies. Excellency, Mr Ashok Sajjanhar was very pleased to learn that Muez Hest has successfully executed projects in Uzbekistan, which has tremendous potential due to slew of reforms & strong fillip given by the new leadership in the Government, as the country is extremely richly endowed with the natural resources.
Vinod Kumar, Ambassador of India to Uzbekistan
Mr Rajiv Arora, Executive Vice President, Muez Hest also met H.E. Mr Vinod Kumar, Ambassador of India to Uzbekistan and introduced Muez Hest as a leading professional engineering organization engaged in setting up turnkey projects in Edible Oils & Oleochemical sector, under the leadership of Mr Javed Husain, Managing Director & Co-founder, who is a Chemical Engineer & has over 30 years of rich experience, as a technocrat.
Mr Rajiv Arora informed Ambassador Mr Vinod Kumar that, while Muez Hest has successfully executed few projects in Uzbekistan, it is looking forward for some more business opportunities and requested for the support and cooperation from the Embassy to help us connect with the right players in the Industry.
H.E. Mr Vinod Kumar, Ambassador of India to Uzbekistan assured best possible support to Muez Hest and invited us to visit Embassy next time when we are in Tashkent. Excellency Mr Vinod Kumar mentioned that a delegation from India is being led by Commerce Minister, Government of India on 30th July, 2018 to Uzbekistan and suggested that Muez Hest should join the delegation.
Prabhat Kumar, Ambassador of India to Kazakhstan
Mr Rajiv Arora, Executive Vice President, Muez Hest met H.E. Mr Prabhat Kumar, Ambassador of India to Kazakhstan and introduced him about Muez Hest and its activities. H.E. Mr Prabhat Kumar underscored untapped potential in strengthening bilateral cooperation in diverse fields, Mr Rajiv Arora offered to extend support in terms of cost effective, sustainable technologies in the Edible Oil sector which could find space in Kazakhstan.
H.E. Mr Prabhat Kumar suggested that a detailed introduction of Muez Hest should be mailed to him, so that he could help identify suitable prospective companies with whom Muez Hest could initiate dialogue and the meetings could be set up by the Embassy to facilitate discussions in order to develop & strengthen trade relations.
In addition, Mr Rajiv Arora, Executive Vice President also met H.E. Mr Somnath Ghosh, Ambassador of India to Tajikistan and introduced to him about Muez Hest and its technical capabilities and engineering strengths in setting up turnkey projects in the Edible Oils & Oleochemicals sector.
Mr Rajiv Arora also met H.E. Mr Manjeev Singh Puri, Ambassador of India to Nepal and introduced Muez Hest to him, as well. Excellency Puri mentioned that Nepal is a growing market and India is its natural partners, due to excellent connectivity. Mr Rajiv Arora assured H.E. Mr Puri that Muez Hest acknowledges the fact & is committed to provide cost effective technology based projects in the Edible Oil sector to companies in Nepal and have visited the Kingdom several times in the last one year to promote our energy efficient & environment friendly technologies and sought the support from the Indian Embassy in Nepal to share information and database to connect with the prospective customers.
