Tailor Made EquipmentSplitting Column

Muez Hest supplies splitting columns with and international standards for the splitting of animal fats or vegetable oils into fatty acids and glycerine. The hydrolysis process works at high temperatures and pressure.

Heated fat and hot water is pumped counter-currently and Split fatty acid is drawn off the bottom of the splitting columns and sweetwater (dilute glycerine water) is drawn off the top.

The columns run at 750 psig and about 250°C. Live 1,500 psig steam at is fed into the bottom of the splitting column, which drives most of the fatty acids overhead. Glycerine accumulates in the bottom in a solution called “sweetwater” (12% glycerine in water).

Highlights:

  1. 1High productivity
  2. 2More oil/fat splitting degree
  1. 3High quality product output
  2. 4Less contamination
  1. 5Low maintenance
  2. 6No fouling material inside
